what wont ever stay
i want to dissolve in your mimicry - i'll hold onto you until i'm dead
My fingertips breach the sand
Castles built on this beach dissolved
in the absence of you
I reshape the soil until it resembles the art
and bury my face in its mimicry
i breathe it in to be with you
fingers running through sand
earth escaping between the spaces
where i brushed your hair
the sand sticks to my skin
as if even the earth wont let go of you
my mind keeps shaping what wont ever stay
the tide crept in and dissolved your vices
and left you untouched
I’m stranded here without you to counter
the waves erasing what we once built together
I pluck shells from the ground
and arrange them
in your beauty
and line the edges to the tide
the sand grits against my eyes

i love this (even though it is obviously devastating). a genuinely beautiful piece of writing that takes inside your mind/heart while being brilliantly visual too.
Hell yeah. This is so devastating but so beautiful
